About us
Marsh Engineering was incorporated in 2018 by its founder and principle, Dr. Nathan D. Marsh. With the goal of offering consulting services based on his prior experience with fire and combustion*, including pollution formation, combuster design, pool fires, analytical chemistry, and the design of experiments. These scenarios usually involve a combination of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, gas-phase chemistry, and multiple phases (gas, liquid, solid), requiring multidisciplinary knowledge and approaches. We are therefore able to apply our expertise to a wide range of problems presented by our clients.
*Combustion is burning by design; fire is burning by accident. Usually.
Bios:
Dr. Nathan D. Marsh
Dr. Marsh holds a Sc.B. in Engineering from Brown University and a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University. He subsequently worked at the Center for the Simulation of Accidental Fires and Explosions at the University of Utah, and in the Fire Research Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
He has over 20 years of experience and has published peer-reviewed research reports since 1998.
